September 16

Today in Mr. Schick's Human Geography class we watched a video.  The video was about Nike sweatshops.  Two Americans named Jim and Leslie traveled to Indonesia to go observe how Nike factory workers live.  They moved to Indonesia for a month where they lived in a 9'x9' room that had no air conditioning and was very hot. Also they were only paid $1 a day to work the whole day. Not $1 an hour one dollar a day.  And if they are sick and need medicine they have to cut out a couple of meals just to get one pill of headache or fever stuff.  Jim one of the main people in the film lost 45 pounds because of the lack of food.  The factory workers never really got to see their kids because of all the work they have to do.  When the film makers went to talk to the Nike CEO he was very rude and refused to talk to them about the workers in Indonesia. After the video we got back into our small groups and continued working on our globalization slide show.
